Natural convection is the reference basis for calculating th

A.The calculation formula of natural convection is Q=h*A(ΔT), from the calculation formula, so surface area is a major factor for natural convection.
The bigger the surface area, the better the heat dissipation. However, if the thermal module is designed in a limited space, simply increasing the heat fins is not enough.
Increasing the fins also reduces the width of the airflow channel in the mean time . Due to the thermal boundary layer generated when the fins dissipate heat
Due to the thermal boundary layer generated when the fins dissipate heat, an airflow channel must have two heat dissipation surfaces. The airflow channel will be reduced when the thermal boundary layer is formed on both heat dissipation surfaces. If the channel is reduced, the airflow will be reduced, and the fins will lose their heat dissipation effect. Therefore, the ideal heat dissipation area varies under different conditions.
Generally speaking, using simulation software based on the specific parameters of a project should be used to optimize heat dissipation.
